Should the Secretary of Education know about Ed Code?
How ironic that I am taking a class on educational law and the nominee for Secretary of Education has no clue about IDEA and in support of guns in schools to protect us from bears?
As an educator teaching in public schools for 15 years, a parent of a child with special needs, and as a citizen of the United States, I feel strongly that our next Secretary of Education needs to be an expert with educational issues and have extensive experience with Federal, State, and local educational laws, policies, and procedures. It is not fair to our students...my own children and the future of America. There is hope that our leaders will understand the importance of experience, wisdom, and knowledge instead of money, power, and notoriety. We shall see the outcome, but so far it has been looking bleak.
